Purpose of the Assignment
The main purpose of this assignment is to create maps with GIS and illustrate spatial relationships of the location and the hazards. These maps will help stakeholders to better visualize the hazard prone areas and contribute to the understanding of Disaster Risk Analysis.
Assignment Tasks
GIS Expert's will be required to produce:
- District maps for Mingachevir, Barda and Neftchala;
- Flood hazard maps Mingachevir, Barda and Neftchala;
- Earthquake hazard maps for Mingachevir, Barda and Neftchala;
- Multi-hazard maps for Mingachevir, Barda and Neftchala;
- Child vulnerability maps for Barda and Neftchala and school vulnerability map for Mingachevir;
- Child Centered Risk maps for Mingachevir, Barda and Neftchala;
- Train members of the working group on GIS mapping;
- Additional tasks asked by DRR Consultant
Expected Deliverables

Qualifications of Successful Candidate
- University Degree in Geography, Statistics, Economics, Social Science, or Disaster Risk Reduction, or related field
- At least 3 years of quantitative research experience, with a strong emphasis on spatial analysis and detailed map preparation/ planning and establishment of GIS information.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access);
- Strong knowledge of GIS tools or data (e.g. ArcGIS) and relational databases (e.g. SQL Server - Spatial);
- Detail-oriented ability to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and articulate information;
- Strong work ethic, commitment to accuracy, and ability to handle confidential information;
- Ability to function and communicate professionally and effectively
